Amy Newton

Amy, our volunteer prayer coordinator, leads prayer gatherings in homes across the Triangle (Raleigh-Durham, NC) and is the first person to lift Cindy and the RiverCross team before God’s throne.

She explains, “I have always had a heart for prayer and believe prayer accomplishes God's work when I am yielded and obedient to the Lord.  His Spirit guides me and provides me with the wisdom I need in order to pray according to His will. In the past few years I have realized that prayer is more than just a duty but a specific gift from God for me to use… It is my joy and privilege to partner with God and RiverCross in loving, serving, and praying for orphans and widows around the world, that they may experience healing and find hope in Christ.”

Amy is a stay-at-home mom and lives in Apex, NC with her husband, Peter, their son and daughter, a dog, and a guinea pig named Bubbles. Her favorite verse related to orphans is Psalm 10:12-18, which teaches that God is a helper, an advocate, and a defender for the defenseless.
